This conference coincides with the 30th anniversary of the first Global Health Promotion Conference. Thirty years ago, the Ottawa Charter lifted the banner of “health promotion†and led the development trend of the global health industry. Over the past 30 years, with the joint efforts of all countries and the promotion of the World Health Organization, the world's per capita life expectancy has increased by more than 8 years. The maternal mortality rate, infant mortality rate, and under-five mortality rate have all decreased by about 50%. A new leap in health history. At the same time, we must also see that the global health and health sector still faces serious challenges. Traditional diseases and health problems, as well as health inequalities, are still prominent. The aging of the population, the increase in cross-border migrant populations, changes in disease spectrum, changes in the ecological environment and lifestyles have brought new challenges. This year is the first year of the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. With the theme of “Health Promotion in Sustainable Developmentâ€, this conference emphasizes the status and role of health promotion in global sustainable development. This is the goal of the international community to further build consensus, pool strength and fully realize the sustainable development agenda. It will have a major and far-reaching impact. Here, I would like to make a few suggestions.
Strengthen policy dialogue and build a platform for healthy governance cooperation. Health promotion is the common cause of mankind. All countries should enhance the community awareness of destiny and work together in practical actions. It is necessary to build a multi-level, wide-area, and mechanism-based dialogue and cooperation platform to support the World Health Organization in promoting leadership, coordination, and execution in global health, promoting countries to improve health legislation, and increasing investment and trade in health. Conduct supervision of behaviors and play a good role in fiscal, taxation, financial and other policy tools. To adhere to the principles of common but differentiated responsibilities and enhance the representation and voice of developing countries, developed countries should assume more responsibilities and provide support to developing countries to promote global health governance more just and rational.
