- The advantage of rotating the disk electrode is that there is a clear function between the thickness of the diffusion layer of the electrode solution interface and the electrode rotation speed. Therefore, the mass transfer of the reactants and products can be regulated by changing the rotation speed of the reaction. For the oxygen reduction reaction which is not reversible on the smooth electrode, the intrinsic kinetic parameters of the electrode pair reaction can be obtained by simple mathematical treatment to completely eliminate the influence of mass transfer.

- Precautions
- Electrode grinding is generally first polished with 5um polishing powder, and then polished with 0.5um and 0.05um polishing powder to smooth;
- Usually, 10 uL of the catalyst solution is dropped onto the surface of the electrode, and then covered with a watch glass or a petri dish or a beaker, and dried naturally. It is not recommended to dry the oven at a high temperature. The catalyst prepared in this way is easily cracked. If infrared heating is used, the power should be reduced as much as possible;
- When scanning LSV, it is recommended to pre-sweep from low speed to high speed, then from high speed to low speed;
- Before LSV scanning, first pass O2 into the electrolyte, and when scanning LSV, continue to pass O2 to the electrolyte liquid surface to ensure O2 saturation in the electrolyte;
- The sealing of the electrolytic cell ensures O2 saturation in the electrolyte during the experiment. If the seal is not good, it will cause O2 to escape, and the experimental data is not regular.
