Pepper is one of the main types of shack vegetable planting in Julu County. After the fall of the villages of South Yanchi, Kongzhai, Hongshuikou, and Nanhakou, the cultivation area of greenhouse pepper is relatively large. Recently, many farmers have come to consult with them on what kind of disease hazards they have. They have been diagnosed as pepper purple spot disease.
First, the symptoms
There are purple striped patches on the surface of the pepper, and the shape of the lesion is irregular. Some of the entire fruit surface is covered with purple stripes. In severe cases, the purple strips form a patch and become purple patches. The most serious fruit surface turns purple. Purple streak appeared on petiole and shoots. The lesions on the fruit seriously affect its commercial properties.
Second, the cause analysis
The disease is caused by phosphorus deficiency in peppers. Anthocyanin appears in the results of phosphorus deficiency, resulting in purple spots on fruits or plants. On the one hand, the lack of phosphorus in the soil can cause the disease. On the other hand, phosphorus in the soil is sufficient. However, the lack of water or low temperature in the soil will cause the plant to absorb phosphorus from the soil, especially when the ground temperature is below 10°C. At the time, it is very difficult for the root system to absorb phosphorus.
Third, control methods
1. Keep warm. The peppers cultivated in late autumn must be warmed and kept warm so that the temperature in the shed can be raised to above 10°C to prevent purple pigmentation caused by anthocyanin production.
2. Fertilization. Pay attention to the application of adequate quality farmhouse manure to increase the supply of phosphorus in the soil, generally 3-5 cubic meters per mu. In addition, potassium dihydrogen phosphate fertilizer was sprayed at the appropriate timing to supplement phosphorus.
