Israeli company invents plasma beam equipment to leave scars after surgery

Release date: 2014-03-21

Cesarean section is an important procedure in the field of obstetrics. Due to advances in anesthesiology, blood transfusion, infusion, hydroelectric balance, surgical procedures, improvements in surgical suture materials, and infection control, cesarean section has become effective in solving dystocia and certain obstetric complications, saving maternal and perinatal life. Means, but generally leave scars that are difficult to remove after surgery. Recently, a new handheld device invented by the Israeli company was able to seal the wound and eliminate surgical scars. The device probe emits a gas beam to seal and treat skin cuts.
This invention means the end of the suture wound after surgery and will leave scars after surgery.
In the past, because the wound was sutured with a thread, the blood would flow out of the gap, and the wound was likely to be infected. Although the post-surgical scar repair process can repair the wound, since the scar repair mechanism is different from the normal healing of the tissue, one-third of the patients will leave scars after the wound is healed.
Previous attempts have been made to use surgical glue and laser for wound sutures. But many attempts have ended in failure. The reason is that the temperature of the laser is difficult to control, and the temperature is not too high or too low when the wound is closed, and the cut tissue cannot be well closed.
The device uses a charged form of gas - plasma for wound closure. Hot plasma gases are commonly used for the sterilization of surgical instruments. The reason for using it for wounds was because the temperature was too high. When the plasma gas is discharged, the temperature is as high as 20,000 degrees, even higher than the temperature of the sun's surface. However, in recent years, scientists have tested cold plasma, the temperature is about 35 to 40 degrees, can be safely applied to the human body.
Applying cold plasma to the wound can stimulate the body's normal hemostasis mechanism. It also stimulates blood vessel formation to ensure that the blood supply to the wound promotes healing of the wound.
Using a plasma beam to repair the wound can make the wound more tidy, and the body can heal the wound in a healthy way, instead of repairing the wound with a scar mechanism.
