Under normal circumstances, postpartum milk is abundant in healthy sows. The breasts will swell every 30 minutes to 60 minutes, and the sows will have a comfortable feeling until the piglet eats milk. However, during the rearing period, a few sows did not allow the piglets to feed their milk. The causes and corresponding treatment methods are as follows:
1. First-mother sows have no nursing experience Numerous first-mother sows for the first time have a fear of feeding piglets, because the piglets do not get entangled and do not feed the piglets. Be patient with such sows. The breeder guards the sow and waits for it to lie down, gently scratching his belly with a hand to keep it quiet, and to take good care of the piglet. For a person with a bad temper, use a forced method to make it quiet and let the piglet feed. The sow is used to it after several successive times. Before the production of sows at the time of first birth, if the person often approaches the sow, caress her with scratching the belly and massaging the breast so that the postpartum sow will naturally nurse.
2. The absence of milk in sows' breasts is mostly caused by prenatal malnutrition. Such sows should be fed more milk feed, such as soy sauce, small fish soup, seaweed soup, etc.; or with drugs prolactin, such as lactation tablets, embryo treasure tablets, baking soda and so on. After the milking, the piglets will slowly and naturally eat breast milk.
3. Mastitis secondary to mastitis caused by wound infection or excessive breast milk caused by mastitis, due to pain in the affected part of the piglets refused to eat milk. Should be treated promptly, procaine penicillin can be used for partial closure of sow mammary gland treatment or systemic therapy.
4. The piglets have bad teeth The individual piglets have too long and too long canine teeth. When they eat, they bite and sow the sow, causing the sow to scream and suddenly stand up and even bite the piglet. Use scissors or an electrician's pliers to cut the canine's canine teeth.
5. Not adapting to the new environment When the sow is transferred to a new environment, she is unable to adapt to a new place because of loud noise and emotional stress. Therefore, pregnant sows should be rushed to the new delivery room 2 days in advance to allow it to adapt to the new environment.
