Black tea development
Around the year 1886, it was the peak of the Yichang Red Export, with an annual output of about 150,000 kilos. Mainly sold to countries and regions such as the United Kingdom, Russia and Western Europe, with stable quality and high reputation. According to the “Hubei tea production and sales status and improvement plan†records: Of the 24 companies that purchased, refined, shipped and sold the largest tea products around the province around 1937, Wufeng Fishery and Customs owned Yuantai, Hangxin, Minsheng, Huamin, Tongfu, There are 8 such as Minfu, Hengshen and Hexing.
After the historical tribulations, Yihong had plummeted. In 1949, only 194,400 Chinese tea exports were exported, of which only 16,500 were black tea exports, only 0.825% in 1886. Tea gardens are ridiculous and black tea is almost completely discontinued. There are more than 10 tea factories before the Anti-Japanese War and all were closed in 1949.
In 1951, the Hubei Tea Company was established. It expanded the acquisition of outlets in the two tea regions of western Hubei and southern Hubei. The western Hubei black tea was set up at Wufeng, Hefeng, Changyang, Yichang, Enshi, Yien, Lichuan and Shimen in Hunan Province. In 1951, the Yidu Tea Factory was formally established and is responsible for the refining and processing of Yihong. It is adjacent to Hefeng, Shimen, Cili, Sangzhi and Dayong, four counties of Yifeng, and it is established in the same year in Shimen Sedi. The factory, which belongs to Yidu Tea Factory Branch (in 1956 it was a Shimen Tea Factory). In 1959, Yidu Tea Factory acquired and processed 39,000 gal.
Later, in Wufeng and Yichang, black tea refineries were established one after another, forming a close production network with the state-run tea farms and restoring and developing Yihong production. At present, Yihong has become one of the major local products in Yichang and Enshi, and its output accounts for about one-third of the total output of Hubei Province.
