In Vitro Microbial Treatment - A New Practical Method to Improve the Utilization of Cattle and Sheep's Roughage

At present, an effective and practical method for improving the utilization of roughage in ruminants is to aminate roughage. However, a kind of compound bacteria that is commercially called "Starfish Micro-King" is being increasingly applied to roughage processing in China. The principle is to use microorganisms to ferment roughage (ie, micro-storage) in vitro to increase the utilization of roughage by ruminants. The nutritional effects of handling roughage by micro-active dry seedlings on animals are summarized below.
1 The method of micro-storage of roughage for roughage is similar to the ammoniation method. First, 3 grams of live dried bacteria were dissolved in 200 ml of water in 1 ton of roughage, allowed to stand for 1-2 hours, then diluted with 0.8% -1 % saline solution to 1200-1400 liters, and evenly sprayed on chopped roughage. One ton of roughage can be added with 1-3 kilograms of wheat bran or corn flour to aid fermentation. After handling the roughage, it was sealed for 21-30 days at a temperature above 10 °C. Fermented feeds can be fed directly to livestock.
During the in vitro release of alcohol, the counts of cellulose degrading bacteria and the change of cellulase activity in wheat straw were recorded in Table 1.
